Whatever your food preference we’ll offer you something delicious, that could be a traditional full breakfast whether vegetarian or meaty, creamy scrambled eggs perhaps with hot smoked salmon, pancakes or corn fritters. Some are staples and offered every day, others specials to ring the changes when guests stay a little longer.

We aim to use home made or local produce as much as we can. George bakes sourdough bread and makes marmalade, lemon curd, and most of the jam. I concentrate on the sweet stuff, brioche or croissants, and Aberdeen butteries. Sometimes I’ll make a soda bread too. We like to offer you a choice.

Sausages, eggs and bacon come from local farms, here on Seil at Balvicar, or ¬†Achnasaul , Kilmore and Lerags on the mainland. Our black pudding travels a little further, it’s Macleods of Stornaway.

This year I’ve been experimenting with home cured bacon. It’s a little paler in colour as I only use salt and sugar in the cure, but I’m thinking about experimenting with different sugars. Watch this space.

We can’t grow our own oranges but they are freshly squeezed every morning.

 

 

We’ll check your preferences so that your table is set with your choice of cereal, fruit, and yoghurt. And there’s as much tea, coffee or hot chocolate as you can drink.
